The MS degree in Genetic Counseling offered at the College of Health Solutions prepares genetic counselors to work in the field of genetics where they will apply their knowledge and unique skill set to help advance the understanding of genetics and genomics-related conditions to improve health outcomes within the communities where they work and live.
According to a workforce supply and demand study conducted by Dobson DaVanzo & Associations, LLC, Arizona should have 97 genetic counselors working in direct patient care, however, there are currently only 33 full-time genetic counselors employed throughout the state. Without the MS degree program in Genetic Counseling, the communities around AZ will continue to have limited awareness and access to genetic services.
Thanks to your generosity, members of our community can receive the appropriate genetic counseling services, especially in the state's rural areas.
